A Janner is a stereotypical person from Plymouth (Google link), England. As both of us are from there, we’re both Janners! It’s not a made-up word, honest! Look, it’s even in Wikipedia (mind you, what isn’t?)!
Janners are special people and stand out for many reasons, including the way they speak. Jo is not really a Janner despite living in Plymouth for 18 years, whereas Ruth definitely does speak with a Janner accent. Especially when drunk!
